I would recommend this book to everyone who loves Highland romance! This book is a fast pace page turnner. Lots of details of the characters and descriptions of the scenes that I thought were great! My heart really goes out to Daniel...I really do not blame him for being over the top protective for Maryn. I really felt the love he held for her especially through the love scenes. I also enjoyed the way Daniel banters when he is with Maryn, its cute.

I bought only Book One in this series because I wanted to see if I liked it enough to buy the other two books...and I do! I'm gonna get the other two books in this series as soon as I write this review. I love Highland history, folklore and romance...and this story has it all. Very well written, great wordsmithing. I could really visualize the characters and feel like I was there in amongst them because of the descriptive prowess this author wields. There were times I thought there might not be a happily-ever-after to this story, but there was and I'm so glad! Happily-ever-afters are what I like about romance; they make me feel good, happy, relaxed. There was a bit of mystery and suspense to this story too, which added another wonderful layer to the story. I am really looking forward to the next two stories in this series!
This book starts off with a bang and it doesn't really slow down. I'm hopeful that there will be many more to follow, there's enough meat to the story to branch off in a lot of other directions and keep telling the story. Imagine your guilt when you're a young man, taking a moring away from the castle to go fishing and discover that your entire family has been not just killed but slaughtered. Vengence becomes the theme and is carried out when Daniel discovers that it wasn't a stranger who killed his mother, God father and everyone else in the castle, but his own blood father. This book is so well written that you feel the pain, the loss and the confusion of responsibility for keeping what's left of his clan together. He marries a girl he met once when she was a precocious child but has now become a beauty and while you think the story is going to be all about them, it isn't, there are a lot of other parts of the story. They are interwoven so well that you feel like this is your own family you're reading about. Dont hesitate to buy this book, you won't be sorry.
This is the first in a three part story by KE Saxon. The story is well written with lots of detail and steamy love scenes between the main characters. Many of the characters that you are introduced to will play important roles in the upcoming stories. I would recommend this series to others who enjoy a highland love story mixed with adult themes.

Summary

I've never read any book's by K.E Saxon before, I saw this book at , read a few reviews and thought I'd give it a try. I'm so very happy that I did because this book grabbed me right from the beginning and kept me very interested until the very end.

I love me a good Scottish romance with a sexy, protective, honorable hero and I got just that. The story starts out with a violent scene that may disturb some readers but it was what made Daniel the man he became. The heroine Maryn was introduce in this book when she was very young. She was a feisty little girl who did some LOL things. As the story moves along, these two are married to stop a clan war. They were both very attracted to one another even though she felt jealous over a friendship her husband had with another woman. Once that was all settled and the two woman became friends the heat turned up with the H&h and we got some very sensuous love scenes. For those of you who don't like your sex scenes over the top, no need to worry, they were done tastefully with enough heat to make even me happy.

There was a mystery of a magic giant and an evil villain that got his comeuppance. These two things added to the story line nicely.

This is Volume 1 out of two book's. As far as I'm concerned I feel you can read this book and stop there because it did have a very good ending. Volume 2 Highland Grace Book Two in the Highlands Trilogy is a spin off carrying on with two of the secondary characters but also involving Daniel and
Maryn. This book, Highland Vengeance Book One in the Highlands Trilogy was so good that I'm am jumping right into Book two.

I hope anyone who reads my review and decides to give this book a try will enjoy it as much as I.
